I am passionate about the geosciences and appreciate the many opportunities I’ve had, and I want any student who is interested to be able to explore the geosciences without barriers. I acknowledge that there is a lot of work to do at an individual, departmental, institutional, and broader scientific community level.

Diversity and inclusion is central to our work as geoscientists, and inextricable from research and teaching.

NAU SES Committee on Diversity and Inclusion

As of the 2021-2022 academic year, SES has adopted a Code of Conduct with the goal of creating an inclusive environment in our classrooms, labs, and field. We would love for all members of our community to pledge to uphold this code of conduct.
The SES Unlearning Racism in Geoscience (URGE) pod met regularly during Spring and Summer 2021. Our deliverables are available on the URGE website, and we presented on our work at AGU 2021.
